Shawn Maurice Mims (born March 22, 1981), known mononymously as Mims (backronym for Music Is My Savior), is an American rapper, songwriter and record executive from Washington Heights, New York City. He is best known for his commercial debut single "This Is Why I'm Hot", which peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Following the release of his hit single, Mims' debut album, Music Is My Savior, was released in March 2007.
